The End Of Thorpe Thewles Viaduct

Built in 1877 Thorpe Thewles' famous 20 arch railway viaduct was finally demolished in 1979. On the day of its destruction crowds from across the area travelled to Thorpe Thewles to watch the arches be simultaneously detonated. The following sequence of photographs captures its last few seconds of existence.
